Once in a while the cameraman will put some flashlights in the car and leave hoping to catch me having trouble on the way home. So I hold the pedal to the floor on the first couple of REVS and it sprays black smoke everywhere...of course I think that is funny. In the clip that follows, I will REV the heck out of it, and then even though this thing should obviously not be driven anywhere, because it is so unreliable, we will take off on our journey.

Anyway, I get to the remote land site very late in the day and get some quick pictures before it gets too dark. I know my outfit is lame, but remember it was my day off so I just through on some baggy sweats and my bass flip flops...In the background as I am taking my pictures the old engine slowly sputters sounding worse by the minute, I hear it starting to quit and make a run for the car to try to catch it before it quits. I do not quite make it!

4min7sec This is a semi-scary series of me in the Suburu. I am a Secretary of a big shot real estate developer. He calls me on my day off, to drive my unreliable car, into the middle of nowhere to get some late afternoon digital pictures of some land he wants to develop. I am talking backwoods, creepy people in the woods stuff. I need the job so off I go, in my sputtering suburu. Worst of all, I am bad with maps and directions. In this clip, I hold the key for about 30 seconds before the car starts, should have taken that as a sign. But the rest is me driving further and further into the woods, and getting more and more lost. Notice how the car has almost no power, I mean when I floor it almost nothing happens!

It is also fitting with a number of requests over the years. The fantasy of a neighbor, or nanny, maybe a babysitter, who knows, but she is trying to get her car started because you need to be dropped off. The buick starts again to start this series, but dies when I back out. Which it did in the previous one, it is just a little darker. With some bad weather not to far off.

3min10sec This is a fun series that is scary for me. My biggest fears are being lost and breaking down, or stalling out at night. Posting nighttime clips can be real tough. But the cameraman has some real surprises around the corner. This series is from an outake test after I told him that while he was out of town I had been unable to start the pontiac. He explained to me what to do with one of the cameras that can shoot in complete darkness and asked if I would tape the video myself so he could have the thrill of seeing it when he came home. So with the help of a friend, I taped it myself, and although it is not perfect camera work it does show that the cameraman has found a really great nightime camera that is great for hidden material. This is me really trying to start the car, and telling the neighbor, who also tapes much of it for me, that it will start, but I am obviously nervous about the whole thing. We are about to launch a really different era here. This clip shows the car catching for me, with some hard REVVING that only lasts for a minute before the darn pontiac STALLS again. It then just keeps conking out and flooding as I crank the old pontiac.

A few members have suggested spying on me as I leave for work or what have you, and this series has two cameras hidden outside the car from windows, and one inside the car. (thank the camerman for all of his work) The clip starts with you hearing my Pontiac dying in the background. So, I switch to the suburu which has been neglected. I am really late and need to get going. Now the suburu will not start, as you watch from two windows and one on my toes.

Eventually the engine starts to run hot again, so I find a cute looking town to stop and rest in, but my car dies as soon as I leave the highway, not good, I am in the middle of some wooded new complex, with no gas station in sight.

4min50sec In the first part of this 4th of July series, I have taken the (very out of tune) cougar on a road trip. It does not want to idle and is constantly sputtering and dying. Especially when it starts to run too hot or overheat. So when driving in the mountains, or desert I have to stop at rest areas or other locations to let it rest, and then hope that it starts again. In clip one, I am casually driving up very steep and high mountains and the car is acting funny, so I make one of many stops to let the old car take a break. Of course it briefly stalls before I even get to the parking lot, but I do get it there eventually. I am wearing retro clothes and glasses because the cameraman has many childhood memories that match my real life car dramas now.

I on the other hand feel a little less happy, at least until later when he shares it with me. After all, it can be scary or embarrassing, plus being late is never desirable. In the first clip, it is so obvious that my dodge is a poor choice today, but with my persistance, the engine barely starts and begins sputtering towards work. My hope is that after it warms-up things will improve.

But how embarrassing, there are people in the surrounding storage areas, plus my car is not the only one in this warehouse, and of course it is almost starting. Mostly in this clip I HOLD my pantyhosed foot to the floor, where the engine almost starts but does not quite stay going. I might have it flooded. 3min50sec Part 1 of the dodge at the mall series. This is to fill a number of requests. First, the dodge was barely running when I got to the mall. I had to work for the day at a business, so the car sat in cold wet weather all day. I took the dodge as a favor to the cameraman knowing that he might need to rescue me. So after working all day in my heels and hose I return to the car and have a little trouble starting it, but to my surprise I get it going and back out of the space, put it in drive and the sputtering engine which as usual is pouring black smoke into the air drives maybe 5 spaces with my foot floored STALLS on me. Better here then at the busy exit, although, later I will end up in a real bad stalled situation. For now though, I can barely get it going, but every time I shift into drive the car stalls out.

4min16sec In part 3 starts off by making me think my old pontaic is going to get started again. I am able to pump it just right and the engine sputters to life, so I rev it trying to clear it out. When I put it in gear it stalls again. After I try to restart it, I guess it floods out on me. So I take some of your suggestions and hold the pedal to the floor, and while it tries so hard to catch it just will not start again. Eventually, desperation leads to more pumping and a nearly dead battery.

Although, I have worn them for more than two weeks straight so, they are nicely broken in now. Speaking of broken, I am about to take my wagoneer for a drive to my friends house which is far up a desolate mountain road which seems almost stright up at times. This clip starts off with me trying to leave work, on a cold and snowy early evening. I should not tke this thing since it keeps sputtering and backfiring, plus the cameraman did not want me to go to my friends party, but I go anyway, I think he thought his hidden cameras would capture me not being able to start the thing, and in this clip it looks like it might not catch, but I win and get the thing to go. Later I will pay for this, but I really do not care, I am going without him anyway.

It was shot after a custom had been completed and was very scary for me. It was almost dusk and a thunderstorm was coming, I was driving my old comet into the storm even though the engine was running poorly and smelling like gasoline. I pull into fairly heavy traffic and drive towards town, the car ends up stalling out at a major intersection with lots of traffic and a scary storm approaching, I am in a hurry to get it started again, the distress is the cameraman's favorite part. I am barefoot, we needed a little taste of spring, because winter is still very much here.

It is the middle of winter and all the roads are cold and snowy, so it will take us nearly two hours drive to get there. I make you clean off the snow from my old grand wagoneer first. It is piled up almost four feet high...you do it though. After a brief struggle with the engine we get going, but first I change into my cloth flip flops that I wear as slippers sometimes, so that my feet don't overheat in my boots on the long slow drive. I just hope my poorly running old grand wagoneer can make it.

3min2sec High-Speed@12mb Dial-Up@6mb In the 2nd clip from this series, the cougar is sputtering and idling finally, only to have had stall when I put it in reverse. I still do not realize that my lights have been left on. My battery sounds awful, and I hope the engine is going to start again.

3min55sec High-Speed@15mb Dial-Up@8mb So many things are about to go wrong with my cougar in this clip. I have driven it to a shopping mall, even though it is really prone to not starting on cold days. I wear these vintage candies shoes, although, it is very cold outside, but I park in a parking garage near the entrance. When I come out to the car after shopping, the battery is just barely turning the car over. What is wrong? This makes me nervous and so I pump the gas even more. At this point I have no idea that my lights are left on, I do that with the cougar sometimes, because it has headlamp covers that close when I turn the car off. It would have been smart of me to not have done this when I am in heels and it is twenty outside. I do eventually get it to kind of CRANK up and REV in this clip, but the car is making all kinds of sputtering smoke...I might have made a mistake driving this car in the winter.

2min2sec High-Speed@8mb Dial-Up@8mb This is a short but real conclusion to the previous updates. After a short trip, I returned to find all of my cars buried and frozen after a blizzard. This was shot with cell phone cams because the hidden cams were frozen too. I almost had the pontiac started, but then I guess I blew it.

The blizaard and cold tempatures have made all of my cars unwilling to start. Listen here as my old engine slowly stops cranking. My battery just cannot do it anymore...I guess I will try the Pontiac next. Did I mention that it was 13 below zero in these clips.

Well, first they delayed my return from a short trip, then they had another major impact. They buried several of my cars, then put those old cars into a deep freeze. This clip is what my suburu is like to start for me right now...this was shot at dusk, below 0 degrees, and tons of snow.
